The liver is a very important organ of the human body, with physiological functions such as detoxification, metabolism, hematopoiesis, and blood storage.

March 18 is the National Liver Love Day. The theme of this year is "Maintain Liver and Improve Health".

"Stay up late, alcohol abuse, excessive eye use, emotional depression and other unhealthy lifestyles may cause liver damage in modern people. Once the liver is damaged, there are almost no obvious symptoms in the early stage of onset, and it is easy to be ignored and miss the best time for treatment." Wang Ruilin, director of the Department of Liver Diseases of the Department of Liver Diseases of the Fifth Medical Center of the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital, reminds us that we must pay attention to the maintenance of the liver at ordinary times.

The first step in nourishing the liver is to get enough sleep.

"Traditional Chinese medicine pays attention to the time when the meridians run to the liver and gallbladder from 11 am to 3 am at night. During sleep, the human body enters a self-repair mode. If you often stay up late and cause insufficient sleep, your body's resistance will decrease, which will affect the liver's self-repair at night. "Wang Ruilin emphasized that teenagers and middle-aged people need to sleep for 8 hours a day; people over 60 should sleep for about 7 hours; people over 80 should sleep for 8 to 9 hours; people who are frail and sick can appropriately increase their sleep time.

The second step of nourishing the liver is to drink moderately.

Long-term excessive drinking can cause repeated fatty degeneration, necrosis and regeneration of liver cells through ethanol itself and its derivative acetaldehyde, leading to alcoholic liver diseases, including alcoholic fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, liver fibrosis and cirrhosis.

The third step in nourishing the liver is to protect the eyes.

According to Wang Ruilin, in Chinese medicine, the liver stores blood and opens eyes to the eyes, and the health of the eyes is closely related to liver function.

Long-term use of a computer, watching TV, watching a mobile phone or reading a book for a long time will cause excessive eye use.

"Long vision hurts blood", it is easy to make the liver blood insufficient.

For people who need to face the computer for a long time, after working for a period of time, they should rest their eyes properly. You can relieve visual fatigue by closing your eyes, looking into the distance, doing eye exercises, etc., so as to achieve the goal of nourishing the liver.

The fourth step of nourishing the liver should be a reasonable diet.

Aflatoxin can induce liver cancer. Moldy rice, peanuts and melon seeds may contain more aflatoxin. Do not eat this kind of food.

In addition, carrots, garlic, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, water spinach, fungus, shepherd's purse, mushrooms, lilies and other vegetables are rich in nutrients and can nourish the liver. They should be eaten often and more.

The fifth step of nourishing the liver requires a calm mind.

In modern society, there is a lot of competitive pressure, and people are prone to pessimism, anger, anxiety, and depression. These negative emotions are very hurtful.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that people who are prone to sulking often suffer from stagnant liver qi, while those who are irritable will suffer from excessive liver qi and hyperactivity of liver yang. These two types of bad emotions can hurt the liver.

Wang Ruilin suggested that you should arrange your life and work reasonably and learn to manage bad emotions.

Make more friends who are optimistic by nature, communicate with friends when encountering things that don't go well, cultivate a variety of hobbies, and participate in group activities.
