"Star Wars 9" at Disney Plus: Can you see the latest film?

Just in time for “Star Wars Day” on May 4th, Disney Plus gave the fans a gift and included the latest part of the space saga in the streaming program.

A special treat, because “The Rise of Skywalker” had only premiered in cinemas in December 2019.

All episodes have been available online since the beginning of May 2020.

“The Mandalorian” and Co .: “Star Wars” series at Disney + at a glance

In addition to the films mentioned, these "Star Wars" series can also be seen at Disney +:

● The Mandalorian

● Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures

● Star Wars Rebels

● Star Wars Resistance

There is also good news for fans of the series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”: The seventh and final season is a Disney Plus original and is therefore also available on the new streaming service.

Some “Star Wars” stories are missing

The fact that not all “Star Wars” stories are available in spite of all this is due to the fact that radical changes were made when the Walt Disney Company took over Lucasfilm.

Some films and series from the Expanded Universe have not been part of the official canon since 2014, but are now part of the so-called "Star Wars Legends".

It is therefore rather unlikely that titles such as “The Ewoks - Caravan of the Brave” or the animated series “Friends in Space” will soon find their way onto the streaming platform.

However, the selection is constantly being expanded and therefore always offers new content - also for fans of "Star Wars".

After the success of "The Mandalorian", Disney + will be focusing on further series in the next few years.

For example, “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi” are planned by 2022.
