Neustrelitz (dpa / mv) - The Chamber of Crafts Ostmecklenburg-Vorpommern wants to invest almost 15 million euros in its educational location in Neustrelitz.

According to a message from the city on Thursday, buildings are to be extensively modernized or newly constructed over the next four years.

A spokeswoman for the Chamber of Crafts confirmed the message.

According to this, a planning office has already been commissioned.

The groundbreaking ceremony is planned for spring 2022.

According to the announcement, a training complex is to be created for a total of around 1500 trainees per year and around 120 boarding school places.

A special focus should be the training of agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics.

"An important sign for the strengthening of the business location Neustrelitz and our regional companies, especially in times of an incipient shortage of skilled workers, which we are already feeling," said Mayor Andreas Grund (non-party).
