The Swiss Wendy Holdener, among the favorites in the slalom on Saturday, tested positive for Covid-19 and placed in isolation on the sidelines of the finals of the Alpine Skiing World Cup on Thursday, announced the Swiss federation.

"Wendy Holdener and coach Klaus Mayrhofer tested positive in rapid tests officially carried out by the organizing committee in Lenzerheide on Thursday. Both are well and are in isolation. They also underwent a PCR test. Thursday evening for confirmation. The result of this test is expected Friday morning, "wrote Swiss ski in a press release.

Holdener, Olympic slalom vice-champion and two-time combined world champion, could no longer hope to win the small slalom globe.

This is a new case of Covid-19 in the Swiss women's team, after that of the skier Mélanie Meillard last week in Sweden, and that of the physical trainer of Lara Gut-Behrami, announced at the beginning of the week.
