Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The lottery company supports a further 46 charitable projects in the state with a total of around 1.5 million euros.

The supervisory board decided that, as a spokeswoman for Lotto-Toto GmbH announced on Thursday.

The money goes into social work, cultural projects, the environment and sport.

This includes the Families in Need Foundation in Saxony-Anhalt.

According to the information, support is also provided to the DRK regional association for an educational program for families entitled “Elan” and the regional sports games for people with disabilities and their friends.

Eight municipalities receive funding from Lotto for church monument preservation projects.

This includes the church tower renovation in Brietze (Jerichower Land), roof work on the St. Marien Church in Sylda (Mansfeld-Südharz) and the St. Petri Church in Hohenerxleben (Salzlandkreis) as well as for the emergency security of the church in Selbitz (Wittenberg district) .

The raccoons in the Weißewarte wildlife park in Tangerhütte (Stendal district) are said to have got a new facility with lottery funds.

In the cultural field, the planned Burgtheater summer (July 13th to August 15th) in Roßlau (Wittenberg district) and the renovation of the Great Blankenburg Castle (Harz district) are supported by the lottery company.

In sport it is the Dessau athletics meeting and the chemical cup (boxing) in Halle.

According to the lottery company, around 4.7 million euros in funding were awarded in 2020 for 280 applications for support for charitable purposes.

The promotion of charitable projects
