- We have made an extensive survey together with the municipalities and interest groups, says Anders Åkvist, chief physician at Region Halland.

Among other things, the region has contacted women's shelters, civic services, religious communities and social services.

Approximately 630 people are homeless in Halland, and of these, around 150 are acutely homeless and referred to sleep outdoors or in shelters, for example, according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's latest survey from 2017.

Difficult with recommendations

The Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendation is that “people with a condition that makes it difficult to follow the advice on infection control measures” are vaccinated during Phase 3, and this includes several of the regions homeless.

Of the 18 regions that have responded to SVT's survey, 12 regions answer that the homeless will be vaccinated during Phase 3.

Uppsala begins during Phase 2

In the Uppsala Region, the homeless are vaccinated already during Phase 2, in the Kronoberg Region the homeless are vaccinated when the region comes into contact with the group and in the Dalarna Region, the homeless are vaccinated based on which age and risk group they are in.

Other regions that responded to the survey write that they have not yet made a decision regarding what the plan looks like.

How to reach people who do not have an address and telephone?
