Hamburg (dpa) - In view of the further increasing corona numbers, the Hamburg Senate is preparing the city for the threatened withdrawal of the latest easing.

"Retailers, museums, galleries, zoos and botanical gardens have to be prepared for the fact that the last opening steps taken will be withdrawn in the next few days," said Senate spokesman Marcel Schweitzer on Wednesday.

The seven-day incidence value in Hamburg had previously exceeded the 100 mark.

"Also in view of the nationwide development of the pandemic, the Senate assumes that the trend of the last few weeks will continue."

If the incidence is over 100 on three consecutive days, the regulation of the federal-state agreement on the so-called emergency brake applies.

The incidence value represents the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. In Hamburg it was 100.9 on Wednesday.

Without a trend reversal, the emergency brake rule would be triggered on Friday.

The Senate had already prepared the amendment to the containment ordinance, "so that it can be published immediately and come into force," said Schweitzer.

"We will inform you about this in good time."

For citizens, this essentially means a return to the status before the last opening step.

“For the time being, only“ Click & Collect ”will be possible in retail.

Private contacts have to be limited to one person outside of their own household, children up to 14 years of age are not counted, ”explained the Senate spokesman.

"Outdoor sports are then only possible with this contact restriction."
