Munich / Rosenheim (dpa / lby) - The city of Rosenheim does not receive an exemption for the opening of elementary schools, daycare centers and retail outlets for a corona incidence of up to 130 instead of 100. The government of Upper Bavaria has submitted the city's application for an exemption from the requirements of the Bavarian infection control measures declined on Wednesday, said a spokesman.

However, the incidence for Rosenheim was already over 200 on Wednesday - even a permit would not have allowed an opening.

There was a similar application from Starnberg.

The district applied for an exception to the 50 limit and wanted to keep the retail trade open even if it was exceeded.

This application was also rejected, said the spokesman for the government of Upper Bavaria.

In the Starnberg district, according to the Robert Koch Institute, the number of new infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants on Wednesday was 62.9.

In Rosenheim the incidence is 217.1.

The city had already issued a new general decree the day before, according to which, among other things, a mask requirement applies in several areas of the city such as in pedestrian zones and at the train station.

The mask must not be removed when eating, drinking or smoking.
