Nicolas Sarkozy was to be tried with thirteen other defendants from this Wednesday in the so-called "Bygmalion" case.
The former head of state faces a one-year prison sentence and a 3,750 euro fine for the illegal financing of his 2012 presidential campaign.
He is suspected of having benefited from a system of false invoices set up by the UMP to exceed the spending limit authorized by law.
A reprieve for Nicolas Sarkozy.
The trial of the so-called "Bygmalion" case is postponed to May 20, the Paris court announced on Wednesday.
Along with thirteen other defendants, he was to be tried for the illegal financing of his 2012 presidential campaign.
The hearing was postponed due to the state of health of Jérôme Lavrilleux's lawyer, sick with Covid-19 and hospitalized.
All the lawyers involved in the proceedings joined in his request for a referral, which the court therefore accepted.
