Kiel (dpa / lno) - The Bundesliga handball players of the THW Kiel have fulfilled their duty at HSC 2000 Coburg.

The German champions prevailed on Wednesday with 37:32 (19:15) at the bottom of the table.

Sander Sagosen was the most successful thrower of the «zebras» with nine hits.

Florian Bilek was also successful nine times for the host Upper Franconia.

THW coach Filip Jicha had left the Landin brothers Niklas and Magnus in Kiel.

The goalkeeper and the left winger were most recently with the Danish national team, which had two positive corona cases after the game in the European Championship qualification against North Macedonia in Jacob Holm and Hans Lindberg (both Füchse Berlin).

"The daily tests were always negative," said Jicha before the game on Sky: "The two of them have special leave."

For Niklas Landin, Dario Quenstedt stood between the Kiel posts.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper set a first exclamation mark at 6: 9 (11th) with a parade against the Coburg left winger Felix Sproß.

Before the break, Quenstedt fended off the seven meters from Milos Grozdanic and Bilek.

When the Kiel runner Patrick Wiencek met at 23:16, HSC coach Alois Mraz took his third and final time-out in the 35th minute.

That didn't change anything when the «Zebras» won their fourth victory in their fourth encounter with Coburg.

In the final phase, the temporary workers Bevan Calvert on the right wing, Philipp Wäger in the back area and Philip Saggau in the goal got a few more minutes of action.
