Waghäusel (dpa / lsw) - With a breath alcohol level of 3.5 per thousand, the police pulled a drunk driver out of traffic in the Karlsruhe district.

The 50-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on his tour through Waghäusel, first crashed into a parked car and finally his car came to a standstill unharmed on a sidewalk, it said on Wednesday.

As the officials said, a witness had previously noticed the unsafe driving of the drunk.

After the drunk driver's accident on Tuesday, the witness was able to pull the ignition key on the drunk man's car and thus prevented him from continuing his journey.

In a breath alcohol test, the alerted police officers found a value of over 3.5 per mille.

The man had to give a blood sample and his driver's license was withdrawn.
