Russia called on the international community to lift the "policy of isolation" from the Syrian regime, and stressed the need for cooperation with Turkey, while demonstrations continued in northern Syria to mark the tenth anniversary of the revolution.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called on Arab and Western countries to resume dialogue with the Syrian regime, and to move away from what he called the policy of isolating Damascus.

Peskov said that his country does not see an alternative to the work of the Syrian Constitution Committee, adding that Moscow is making great efforts to support it and advance the political track.

Peskov also stressed the importance of cooperation between Russia and Turkey despite their differences over Syria, especially in the Syrian regions that witness coordination between them in the north of the country.

The Kremlin spokesman confirmed the continuation of close work between the Russian and Turkish armies, in accordance with the agreements signed between their countries.

The opposition coalition

On the other hand, the Syrian opposition coalition welcomed the new British sanctions against regime figures and those close to it.

In a meeting held in northwestern Syria, the coalition called on the international community to impose severe economic sanctions on the figures involved in the regime and its allies in the war crimes that affected the Syrian people.

The Syrian opposition coalition also called for the activation of UN Resolution 2254, to ensure Syria's transition to a civil democratic system.

Commemoration of the revolution

And the Al-Jazeera correspondent in Syria reported that the demonstrations took place - for the second day in a row - in the cities and towns of northwestern Syria, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution.

In the city of Azaz, the demonstrators chanted slogans during which they affirmed the continuation of their revolution until the overthrow of the regime, the accountability of its symbols, and the full fulfillment of the revolution’s demands.

They also called on the international community to press the regime to release the detainees, and to achieve a peaceful transfer of power.
