Elon Musk has decided to move away from just being CEO or CEO.

He now has a royal "title".

The whimsical boss of Tesla was very officially proclaimed Monday "Technoking", that is to say no less than "king of tech", by his company.

Its CFO Zach Kirkhorn has meanwhile been awarded the title of "Master of Coin", probably in reference to the recent purchase by the electric vehicle maker of $ 1.5 billion of bitcoin virtual currency.

The company did not say whether the titles involved additional duties.

The decision was announced in an administrative document sent to the US Financial Markets Authority (SEC).

The information, laconic, takes two lines: “As of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn were respectively changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin.

Elon and Zach keep their respective positions of CEO and CFO ”.

Accustomed to controversies, Elon Musk has regularly floundered in the past with the SEC, which accused him of having deceived investors when he had mentioned in a tweet in 2018 a possible withdrawal from the Tesla Stock Exchange while he was not financially strong enough for such an operation.

The authority then forced the businessman, with a fortune currently estimated at 179 billion dollars by Bloomberg, to give up the post of chairman of the board of directors and to pay a fine of 20 million dollars.

One foot in the "NFT"

The entrepreneur also interfered on Monday in the new fashion of "NFT", these virtual objects with popular sales that allow a digital work to be associated with a certificate of authenticity that is theoretically non-piratable thanks to the technology of the "Blockchain", popularized thanks to cryptocurrencies.

Elon Musk has announced on his Twitter account to sell a piece of techno music using the theme of “NFT” (Non-Fungible Token, or non-fungible token) as “NFT”.

According to the American press, his companion, the Canadian singer Grimes, recently auctioned off “NFT” packages combining an audiovisual creation with unpublished music for a total of $ 6 million.
