French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian confirmed today, Tuesday, that the return to the nuclear agreement will mark the beginning of a broader discussion of the regional situation and the Iranian ballistic missile program, while Iran has expressed its readiness to take any step to enhance regional security and peace.

Le Drian said today, Tuesday, that efforts to revive the Iranian nuclear talks are facing difficulties due to tactical problems and the internal situation in Iran ahead of the presidential elections there in June.

In a speech to the French Senate, Le Drian said that reviving the 2015 nuclear deal would be the starting point for discussing the regional situation and Iran's ballistic missile program.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif expressed his country's readiness to take a step aimed at strengthening regional peace and security and supporting development in the region, while the Iranian army confirmed its ability to destroy Israel.

Zarif added, today, Tuesday, that Iran is a major and responsible player in the area of security and peace in the region, and that it will remain so, and that it is fully prepared for dialogue, considering that the countries of the region are able to coexist with each other in peace and can solve their problems through logic, dialogue and diplomacy, as he put it.

Hard comeback

On the other hand, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, said that Washington's return to the nuclear agreement is not impossible but difficult, and there are issues that must be clarified, pointing out that he touched Washington's will to return to the agreement.

In a speech to the defense and foreign committees of the European Parliament, Grossi stressed that the understanding reached with Iran during the IAEA Board of Governors meeting in Vienna last month provided an opportunity for diplomatic efforts to return to the nuclear deal.

The return path is clear and uncomplicated

While Grossi considered that Washington's return to the nuclear agreement is difficult, Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said that the path for Washington and the rest of the signatories to the nuclear agreement to return to implement the agreement is clear and uncomplicated.

In response to a question about the statements of the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, regarding mediation between Tehran and Washington to activate the nuclear agreement, Rabiei said that his country welcomes the efforts of Russia and other international parties to urge the United States to return to the nuclear agreement, and continues to coordinate with Russia regarding the implementation of the agreement.

Rabiei stressed that Tehran hopes that Washington will take the right decision to return to the agreement as soon as possible.
