Kiel (dpa / lno) - Schleswig-Holstein's students should be able to test themselves for Covid-19 infection in schools on a weekly basis until the Easter holidays.

"On Thursday we will deliver the first batch of 230,000 Roche self-tests to the school authorities with the THW," said Education Minister Karin Prien (CDU) on Tuesday in Kiel.

The first antigen self-tests are planned for high school students so that they can test themselves before the upcoming exams.

The ministry advises students to test themselves on the eve of the exams.

Prien emphasized that "in the following days a further 380,000 tests will come to the schools, so that all pupils in Schleswig-Holstein will receive a test offer in the coming week".

With the corona self-tests, the state government wants to make teaching in schools safer.

In addition to the self-tests at school, teachers and school employees can also have themselves tested in pharmacies, family doctors or the Red Cross test centers.
