The CGT, FA-FP, FSU and Solidaires call Tuesday the public service to a national day of action on April 6.

The four unions demand, among other things, the defense and strengthening of the general status of civil servants, the end of job cuts and more budgetary resources.

Four civil service unions, CGT, FA-FP, FSU and Solidaires call this Tuesday for a national day of action on April 6 bringing together public officials, citizens and elected officials, "for salaries, employment and public missions" .

"On a number of fundamental issues, the President of the Republic and the government are maintaining a course seriously prejudicial to the public service," the unions declared in a joint statement.

They demand "the repeal" of "the law on the transformation of the public service, which is detrimental to social democracy, leading to increased precariousness, longer working hours and, more generally, which calls into question the general status "of public officials, according to them.

According to Benoît Teste (FSU), the concrete modalities of this "first day of mobilizations" have "not yet been decided" and may take the form of "demonstrations, rallies or even strikes as well as any other form of action chosen by the agents, citizens and elected officials who fight for the defense, the reconquest and the development of public services and the civil service ".
