Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) has questioned the further relaxation of the lockdown planned for next Monday due to the increasing number of infections.

"Of course, now with the situation, I will think twice about whether I will make more openings on Monday," said the green head of government in the ZDF program "Markus Lanz", which should be broadcast on Tuesday evening.

He is considering suspending the opening for the first time and first discussing "what we can risk" on Monday.

The so-called seven-day incidence in the southwest of the country has risen to 79.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

A week ago the value was 60.7.

For a good week there has been the first easing in circles that are stable below an incidence of 50.

The shops were allowed to reopen with restrictions, and daycare centers and primary schools have all been open since then.

In the south-west, the 5th and 6th grades have had face-to-face classes again since this Monday.

The next opening step is actually planned for this Monday.

However, this should be made dependent on the fact that the previous stage did not lead to a worsening of the seven-day incidence for 14 days.

Then it is first about the opening of outdoor catering, cinemas, theaters, concert and opera houses as well as contact-free sport indoors and contact sports outdoors.

Kretschmann said: "We see the enormous pressure from the population to open up, it is really enormous."

Politicians can not only make do's and don'ts, they must also see that the vast majority of people adhere to them.

"Of course we always talk with angels tongues, please remember, we don't want a third wave."

But: "That often fades away."

One could possibly open it further if there were quick and self-tests on a large scale - “but that doesn't work overnight either”.
