A victory for Marine Le Pen in the 2022 presidential election would be "a disaster for the country", said Jean Castex on Tuesday, judging that the leader of the National Rally did not "have the necessary skills to manage" France.

"I will fight with all my strength so that this does not happen", the Prime Minister still assured on BFMTV, stressing that "it would not be in the interest of the country".

"The prospect of Ms. Le Pen getting closer to power is extremely worrying," insisted Mr. Castex, criticizing his "electoral strategy" of "wearing a little more sympathetic attire" while "the ideological background does not has not changed ".

Mr. Castex also attacked the oppositions, guilty according to him of sending back to back Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.

"When I hear people say + between Mr. Macron and Ms. Le Pen it's the same thing, we will not choose +, it's quite scandalous," stormed Mr. Castex, confessing to refer in particular to the leader of France rebellious Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

"It is extremely shocking, this left which would not choose between Emmanuel Macron and Ms. Le Pen (...). I think that an unacceptable limit has been crossed by saying that", he added.

Several votes in the presidential majority estimated, like the delegate general of LREM Stanislas Guerini, that Jean-Luc Mélenchon had "exploded in the bazooka the republican front" in 2017 by not calling for a vote Emmanuel Macron to counter Marine The pen.

A position that the leader of LFI has recently reiterated for the 2022 deadline because, according to him, "the instructions have no weight today".
