Darmstadt (dpa) - An antelope weighing 160 kilograms has escaped from a circus in the Darmstadt district of Arheilgen.

Road users observed the animal for the first time around 6.30 p.m. in the area of ​​the Rhönring, as the police headquarters in South Hesse announced on Tuesday.

The antelope cow later appeared on train tracks - the federal police had to temporarily block the route completely.

"The animal has been caught," reported a police spokesman in the evening.

It was to be brought back to the circus that evening.
