Augsburg (AP) - FC Augsburg has received a reprimand from the sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) for a cheering photo.
The DFB justified this on Tuesday with a violation of the hygiene concept applicable due to the corona pandemic.
The sports court had also demanded a fine of 15,000 euros, but refrained from doing so because FC Augsburg wants to make a voluntary donation of 10,000 euros to a mother and child center.
Against the background of the hygiene concept, the control committee of the DFB had determined after the FCA published a snapshot on social media shortly after its 1-0 victory at FSV Mainz at the beginning of March.
Twelve Augsburg players could be seen on it, who kept no distance from each other when cheering in Corona times and also did not wear mouth and nose protection.
"We are of the opinion that a warning in this case is a fair judgment, especially since no preliminary investigation has been initiated in numerous comparable cases," said Stefan Reuter and Michael Ströll from the management of the Bundesliga club in a message.
