An eleven-year-old boy died last morning in a Paris hospital, where he

was admitted in serious condition

after jumping out of his room window.

In his room he left a letter of apology for having harassed a classmate, according to French media.

A neighbor alerted the victim's mother after witnessing, on Monday afternoon, that scene in a family apartment located on the fourth floor of a residence in the French town of Vitry-sur-Seine, on the outskirts of Paris, according to indicates the French string LCI.

A resident nurse in the neighborhood provided first aid to the boy before the firefighters took care of him, who later died at the Necker Hospital in Paris from his injuries.

According to LCI, the Créteil prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to find out the specific causes of death, after the minor was

punished at his school for having harassed one of his classmates

.

At home, after his mother's reprimand and after she sent him to his room, the boy wrote a letter of apology before throwing himself into the void.

This event occurs days after the death of Alisha K., a 14-year-old girl whose body was found dead in the waters of the Seine River as it passed through Argenteuil (north of Paris), where it was allegedly thrown by a couple of students with whom he shared class.

This crime has impacted French society at a time when the increase in violence among adolescents has generated concern in the Government of Emmanuel Macron, which is preparing a plan to stop gang wars and increasing school bullying.
