Frankfurt / Berlin (dpa / lhe) - The seven-day incidence in Hesse has continued to rise.

The value for new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week was 88.0 on Monday.

This is based on data from the Berlin Robert Koch Institute (RKI) (as of 03:21).

The previous day the incidence was 84.0.

According to the RKI, 442 new corona infections were reported nationwide within 24 hours.

The number of deaths associated with the virus rose by 4 to a total of 6,039. 198,778 infections have been confirmed nationwide since the pandemic began.

In the regions, the city of Offenbach had the highest incidence with 179.6, a total of eight districts and cities were above a value of 100. The lowest incidence was in the Schwalm-Eder district with 32.8.

According to data from the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi), there were 269 Covid 19 patients in the intensive care units in Hesse, 143 of whom were ventilated (as of 6:19 a.m.).

A total of 1662 of 1953 available intensive care beds were occupied.
