Hanover (dpa / lni) - Intelligent technology and artificial intelligence should help in Lower Saxony to prevent suicides and criminal offenses behind bars.
In a joint application for the state parliament session this week, the SPD and CDU parliamentary groups are calling for a research and model project for the use of intelligent video surveillance systems in prison areas.
These can sound the alarm in the event of suspicious behavior on the part of the prisoners under observation and, for example, can be used to prevent suicides and to detect the transfer of prohibited objects or impending scuffles when prisoners are outdoors.
