Security sources reported that 7 rockets landed on Monday evening at Balad Air Force Base, north of Baghdad, which includes Americans, but no casualties were recorded.

The sources said that some of the Katyusha rockets landed outside the base in a rural area.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but previous similar attacks have been claimed by pro-Iranian factions in Iraq.

On March 4, an American civilian contractor died in an attack targeting the Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq.

With the successive attacks on diplomatic missions and the international coalition forces, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi pledged to confront the militias accused of involvement in them.
