Dresden (dpa) - The Saxon state parliament deals in a special session with the events during the demonstration against the Corona measures in Dresden.

As the state parliament announced on Monday, the Interior Committee will meet this Thursday (March 18) for a closed session.

As announced, the left in the state parliament had submitted a corresponding application.

This is intended to illuminate the police operation on Saturday in Dresden in connection with the forbidden demonstration of the “lateral thinking” movement.

The Greens and the SPD in the state parliament supported the demand.

The Left suggested inviting Interior Minister Roland Wöller (CDU) and State Police President Horst Kretzschmar to the special meeting.

In Dresden, hundreds of critics of the Corona measures gathered in the city on Saturday, despite the ban on a "lateral thinking" demonstration - at times the protests got out of control.

Twelve police officers were injured and almost 50 crimes were recorded.

Several state politicians accused the police and the interior minister of underestimating the situation and called for political reappraisal.
