Hamburg (AP) - The successful streak of the second division soccer club FC St. Pauli has torn against SC Paderborn.

After six games without a defeat, Hamburg was defeated by 0: 2 (0: 1) to East Westphalia at the end of the 25th match day on Monday evening.

Due to the defeat, the Hamburg team fell back to eleventh place in the table, but with 32 points they still have a reassuring nine point advantage over the relegation place.

For Paderborn it was the first victory after three games, through which they climbed to ninth place with 34 points.

The guests took the lead in the seventh minute.

Julian Justvan played a deep pass to Chris Führich, who had a free run on goal and pushed the ball past goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic.

Defender James Lawrence wanted to clear the situation just before the line, but pushed the ball into his own goal.

Paderborn's captain Sebastian Schonlau (69th) made the success perfect.

The Hamburgers seemed impressed by the 0-1 and were not given access to the game.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Dennis Srbeny had the next big chances for Paderborn, but missed the goal.

In the 27th minute, the guests were awarded a penalty, which was withdrawn after video review due to offside.

A well-shot free kick by Leart Paqarada in the 40th minute, which Paderborn goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle cleared for a corner, was St. Pauli's only chance in the first half.

The Hamburger found the second half of the game well.

Rodrigo Zalazar fired a dangerous long-range shot in the 47th minute.

Zingerle was there again, however.

Rico Benatelli missed the next big chance for St. Pauli in the 64th minute.

The Hanseatic League had more possession overall, but still struggled against the stable defense of Paderborn.

The guests proved to be more effective: after a corner, Schonlau hit with his head.

St. Pauli's goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic could not parry the ball because it jumped right in front of him.

After that, the Paderborn team controlled the game and celebrated a deserved success.
