That was Pablo Casado's first impression of the announcement by Pablo Iglesias, who is leaving the second Vice Presidency and will be the headliner of Podemos in the elections of the Community of Madrid.
For Casado, the blame for all this domino effect lies with Pedro Sánchez, who "has tried to destabilize an autonomous government, that of Murcia," which triggered the close-up call for elections in Madrid and precipitated the breakdown of PP and Cs.
"And the shock wave has now made his government falter," Casado snapped at the president of the national Executive.
"This is the result of those who see politics as a game of chess," he criticized at an event in Barcelona.
Casado has spoiled the tacticism that, in his opinion, Moncloa uses: "In the midst of a pandemic and with more than six million unemployed and 100,000 deaths from Covid, they intend to continue playing 'Risk' [strategy board game] to put their figures against the political stability of autonomous governments ".
To counteract the "communist" candidacy of Pablo Iglesias in Madrid, the PP wants to propose "political stability and individual freedom and economic prosperity."
"The communist project of Pablo Iglesias" leads him, he said, "to the political confrontation of the Madrid Assembly, as it has been doing in the Government of Spain for two years."
PP sources assure that the candidacy of Pablo Iglesias will "mobilize" the center-right electorate in favor of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, out of fear of the leader of Podemos.
In addition, the PP assures that it does not want to enter the game of Churches: "We are going to answer with civil harmony, job creation, lowering taxes and giving more tools to civil society," he has settled.
