Mainz / Essen (dpa / lrs) - The new week in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland starts cloudy and rainy.

The German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Essen that there will be showers again and again during the day.

In the high areas, snow is to be expected and therefore slippery due to slush is possible.

The maximum temperatures are between seven and nine degrees, at higher altitudes they reach a maximum of six degrees.

According to the forecast, Tuesday will also be changeable and wet.

The morning showers should subside as the day progresses.

The temperatures reach a maximum of ten degrees, in the high areas six degrees.

The night on Wednesday should be similarly cloudy.

Above about 300 meters, snow can fall at lows of minus one to minus three degrees.
