We still have no news from Magali Blandin, a 42-year-old mother who has been missing for more than a month in Montfort-sur-Meu near Rennes.
But the investigation saw a rebound on Sunday with the arrest of five individuals, four men and a woman aged between 17 and 45 years.
They are accused of having tried to extort money from the husband of the forty-something, indicates this Monday evening the parquet floor of Rennes in a press release.
It was on February 25 that the husband of Magali Blandin, with whom he was in the process of separation, presented himself to the judge in charge of the investigation to inform him "that he was the victim of an attempted extortion. of a sum of 15,000 euros and felt threatened ”.
The next day, a judicial investigation for attempted organized gang extortion was opened.
In the process, the couple's four children were also placed at the request of the prosecution as a protective measure.
A meeting had been fixed between the husband and the accused
The investigation led to a judicial police operation which was carried out on Sunday in the district of Maurepas in Rennes with the support of the GIGN.
It was in this neighborhood that the meeting had been agreed between Magali Blandin's husband and the people implicated.
The latter were placed in police custody "which can last 96 hours in the case of organized crime", specifies the prosecution.
Research continues in parallel in this case to try to find Magali Blandin with 70 investigators from the Rennes research section and the Ille et Vilaine gendarmerie group mobilized.
