(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) German experts on the rebound of the epidemic call for an "emergency brake" on the "unblocking" process

China News Agency, Berlin, March 14 (Reporter Peng Dawei) On the 14th, the number of newly diagnosed new crown virus infections in Germany in a single day exceeded 10,000 for the fourth consecutive day.

In this regard, German epidemiologist Lauterbach called on the severely affected areas to implement "emergency braking" and cancel the small "unblocking" measures currently adopted.

He also called on primary and secondary schools to suspend classes until after Easter and speed up vaccination at the same time to help Germany survive the third wave of the epidemic.

The German disease control agency announced that the number of newly diagnosed and death toll was 10,790 and 70 respectively.

On average, the cumulative number of confirmed diagnoses per 100,000 people in seven days rebounded from 76.1 the day before to 79.1.

The real-time data of Germany's "Times Online" as of 20:30 on the 14th local time showed that a total of 2,578,753 people were diagnosed, 2,357,854 people were cured, and 74044 people died in Germany.

As of that day, Germany has received 8,863,270 doses of vaccine, and 2,749,786 people in the country have received the second dose of vaccine.

Lauterbach is a Federal Member of the Social Democratic Party and a well-known epidemiologist.

He made the above statement in an interview with the "Rhine Post" that day.

Lauterbach said that the third wave of epidemics began to sweep Germany two weeks ago.

In order to control the epidemic and avoid overloading of medical institutions, he suggested that the following measures need to be taken at present:

First of all, the "emergency braking" part of the resolution reached by German Chancellor Merkel and state governors earlier this month should be strictly implemented-that is, areas where the cumulative number of diagnoses per 100,000 people exceeds 100 in seven days should be called Stop the “unblocking” measures that have been implemented.

Secondly, all local vaccination centers actively promote the first injection of vaccines and strictly follow the order of priority groups.

He said that the latest research in recent days showed that vaccination did not increase the risk of blood clots.

In response to the rapid spread of the new crown variant virus among young people, Lauterbach called on the German states to close primary and secondary schools until after the Easter holiday.

He believes that unless the school is able to provide students with rapid testing twice a week, it should be closed again.
