"The present is the result of the decisions we made in the past."

It is the most powerful phrase uttered by one of the four versions of Juan Martín, all of them in the flesh of the actor Ernesto Alterio, in the short film that names the new Banco Mediolanum campaign: Mis Otros Yo.

The four versions of the same man are reflected in his own mirror, which gives him the image of four different lives.

What would my life have been like if I had made other decisions?

This is what three of the four versions of Juan are asking.

The fourth, the protagonist and last to appear on the scene, is the one who has achieved the goals that the others at some point dreamed of.

How did you get it?

There is, in part, the differential factor: the value of advice, of being accompanied and advised by a professional.

The eight minutes of footage that has been developed by SantaMarta & Astorga, the entity's creative agency since 2016, and signed by the director (and Oso de Oro at the Berlinale 2009) Claudia Llosa appeal to the importance and impact of the decisions we make, or that we do not take, in the Financial Cycle of Life, what the entity calls.

The one in which it is better not to walk alone but to be accompanied and advised by a financial advisor, a Family Banker.

Someone who, as he recreates fiction, becomes one of the family.

A trained and prepared professional who knows the circumstances of his client and who, through a natural and close relationship, develops all his potential -professional and human- to help him plan finances with the objective that he can focus his efforts on his personal and professional projects.

As it happens to Juan Martín.

Today, the best version of the protagonist of Banco Mediolanum's campaign runs his own veterinary clinic, continues to surf, has the experience of having lived abroad, is married to the woman he fell in love with and lives at home that he had wished: he has fulfilled his dreams.

This is not the case with his other three versions: the one that opted to be a veterinarian, the one that chose his hobby (surfing) as a way of life or the one that went to live with Bea, his girlfriend, in London.

"The three of you made important decisions that affected your future, and I did too. Fortunately, I decided a long time ago to rely on a trusted person, who has been there and who has helped me make good decisions," reveals Juan Martín who reached all his goals.

Only he has achieved the goals that his other three versions, the ones that have only gone part of the way, at some point dreamed of.

How do you want your life to be?

We all face constant decisions that shape our lives.

Friends from school, studies, couples, jobs, where we live or what we spend free time on.

Decisions that sometimes we make emotionally, other times rationally, and sometimes we just don't decide and let circumstances and even other people choose for us.

In the end, life unfolds in one way or another depending on the path we choose.

The question is: What are your goals?

The value of financial planning is what allows us to expand the possibilities to decide freely.

A strategy from the hand of a professional can give us the push to go from hypothesizing with a dream life to being as close as possible to it.

And, above all, it helps us to eliminate conditions or, at the very least, to anticipate possible obstacles so that we do not give up the future we want.

Because the objective is that the financial issue is not a brake but the impulse towards achievable goals.

Banco Mediolanum has turned the saver-advisor relationship into the axis of its support model.

A model of people for people that has turned the entity into the bank with the most satisfied customers in Spanish banking, according to the latest Benchmarking study prepared by the independent consultancy Stiga.

And to its network of Family Bankers, a leader in financial advice.
