March 15, 2021 According to the latest Johns Hopkins University tally, the number of cases of coronavirus infection confirmed in the world is close to 120 million (119,874,650), with a daily increase of 359,598 units.

At least 2,653,644 people have lost their lives since the start of the pandemic, including 5,482 in the last 24 hours.

With 29,438,222 total cases, the

United States

is confirmed as the country that has reported the highest number of infections.

Taking into consideration the data relating to mortality, Brazil ranks second behind the US (534,880) with 278,229 victims, followed by Mexico which has now passed the threshold of 190,000 victims (194,710).

Still in terms of mortality, behind Mexico is India (158,725) then Great Britain (125,753), Italy (102,145) then Russia (92,090), France (90,583), Germany (73,463) ) and Spain (72,258). 



United States


Even if we cannot speak of a crisis left behind, it is however now clear that the United States is seeing the light at the end of the health emergency tunnel.

The data speak for themselves: the latest survey by the New York Times, although still marked by dramatic numbers, is however in the sign of a constant decrease in both victims and infections caused by Covid-19.

Yesterday the deaths were 572 while the infections 38,034.

In the past week, there have been an average of 54,832 cases per day, a decrease of 19% from the average two weeks earlier.

The month of March in the US began with a sharp decline of the disease, above all thanks to the now fast pace of the vaccination campaign. 



Brazil


Covid-19 continues to rage in Brazil, which on Friday became the second most affected country, overtaking India.

There are 43,812 new cases of coronavirus and 1,127 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The total number of deaths rises to 278,229 and confirmed cases of contagion amount to 11,483,370 since the beginning of the pandemic.

This is what emerges from the data provided by the Ministry of Health.



Germany


The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany has increased by 6,604 to 2,575,849, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for Infectious Diseases reports.

The death toll rises by 47 to 73,418.
