  On February 17, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced at a ministerial public meeting on the new crown vaccine of the Security Council that China has decided to donate the new crown vaccine to United Nations peacekeepers.

  The Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations stated that this is China's concrete measure to transform vaccines into global public goods, and it also reflects China's practical support for the United Nations and multilateralism.

As one of the leading countries on the safety of peacekeepers under the UN Secretary-General’s “Action for Peacekeeping” initiative, China attaches great importance to the safety of peacekeepers and supports the vaccinations of new crown peacekeepers as soon as possible to protect the lives and health of peacekeepers and help them perform their duties better.

The Chinese government will work closely with the United Nations Secretariat to allow peacekeepers to use Chinese vaccines as soon as possible.

China attaches great importance to the equitable distribution of vaccines, especially the availability and affordability in developing countries.
