Washington (AP) - In the big city of San Diego on the US west coast, a 71-year-old ran his car on a sidewalk and raced into a group of pedestrians.
Three people were killed and six were injured, some seriously, said police chief David Nisleit.
The driver was arrested - he is suspected to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, said Nisleit at a press conference.
So far it is unclear why the driver strayed from the road.
