Al-Sisi orders an increase in the salaries and pensions of workers in the state administration
A statement from the Presidency of the Republic said that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced today, Monday, that the salaries of workers in the state's administrative apparatus and pensions will increase by a total of 68 billion Egyptian pounds (4.34 billion dollars).
According to the statement, this change will increase retirement pensions by about 13 percent at a cost of 31 billion pounds, and raise the minimum monthly wage to 2,400 pounds ($ 153) at a total cost of 37 billion pounds.
Among other measures announced in a review of the draft budget for the fiscal year 2021-2022, financial incentives worth about 1.5 billion pounds for state administration employees who are moving to a new capital that is being built east of Cairo.
In 2019, Sisi raised the minimum wage to 2,000 pounds per month from 1,200 pounds.
