Hanover (dpa / lni) - On the tenth anniversary of the start of the uprisings against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, aid organizations protested against possible deportations to Syria.

"Deportations to Syria are and will remain in violation of international law due to the blatant human rights violations and systematic crimes against humanity," said the Lower Saxony Refugee Council in Hanover.

At the end of last year, the blanket deportation freeze for the civil war country, which had been in force since 2012, was not extended.

The CDU interior ministers were against it.

Since then, it has to be checked on a case-by-case basis whether someone will be deported.
