In the United States, a Korean grandmother in her 80s was attacked without asking.

Amid the growing number of hate crimes against Asian Americans since the outbreak of Corona 19, local media have identified the case as a serious hate crime.

According to a daily Washington Post report, New York White Plains police arrested 40-year-old Glenmore Nembud for spitting and punching an 83-year-old Korean-American woman.

Nemvard assaulted a victim who visited the shopping street on the 9th for no apparent reason, and the attack hit the victim in the ground and unconscious.

By the time the victim regained consciousness, it was already after Nembord had run away.

The victim told ABC in an interview that he was collecting empty bottles and cans near the Nordstrom department store at the time of the incident, and said he was unable to go to the hospital due to medical expenses even though he had bleed.

Police say Nemvard is homeless and has a history of being captured by police at least four times.

Nemvard is accused of second-degree assault and, if convicted, can face up to seven years in prison.

New York's Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Roca says she is looking into racist hate crime charges.

The WP pointed out that violence targeting Asian Americans is the latest and most important incident across the United States.

Hate crimes against Asian Americans in major cities in the United States increased by 149% over the previous year, according to the Center for Hate and Extremeism Research, a research institute affiliated with an American university.

The number of racial hate crimes against Asians reported in New York City rose to 28 last year from the previous three.
