Mainz (dpa / lrs) - SPD parliamentary group leader Alexander Schweitzer has clearly defended his constituency Südliche Weinstrasse.
According to the provisional result of the state elections on Sunday, he won 41.3 percent of the constituency votes ahead of the CDU applicant Thomas Weiner with 25.3 percent.
The voter turnout was 70.3 percent after 75.0 percent in the 2016 election.
