Leipzig (AP) - RB Leipzig no longer has the title chance in the Bundesliga in their own hands.

Julian Nagelsmann's team only scored 1: 1 (0: 0) against Bayern conquerors Eintracht Frankfurt.

The gap to the front runner FC Bayern Munich is now four points again.

Emil Forsberg (46th minute) gave RB the lead before Daichi Kamada (61st) equalized.

Should RB get back on the road to success next Friday in Bielefeld, they can shorten the gap to the record champions on April 3 at home.

Until then, the only Bayern hunter remains verbally defensive.

"We think step by step and don't want to lose our grip," said RB CEO Oliver Mintzlaff before the game.

Adi Hütter's team, which brought Leipzig back to the title race thanks to Hessen's 2-1 win over FC Bayern, had to do without Martin Hinteregger (thigh problems) for the first time this season.

Sebastian Rode, Daichi Kamada and Lucas Tuta moved into the starting line-up.

Hütter wanted to surprise Nagelsmann with his line-up, and above all relied on the standard strength of Eintracht.

But initially nothing was to be seen of the best team in 2021 offensively.

The greedy people of Leipzig are different.

In the seventh minute, Eintracht keeper Kevin Trapp prevented the RB leadership against Justin Kluivert, who was running towards him.

Then he parried against Emil Forsberg (14th), before Willi Orban successfully dusted off - but the hit was denied due to offside.

Then a moment of shock for RB: Defense chief Dayot Upamecano grabs his thigh after a sprint and is replaced by Lukas Klostermann (27th) with a suspected muscle injury.

The Bayern pursuer invested a lot in the snappy game, pressed high and quickly switched over when winning the ball.

But in the last third there was often a lack of accuracy - or Trapp saved again, as in the 41st minute, against Forsberg on a free-kick cross.

Kamada (39th) previously missed the only scoring chance for Hessen miserably.

After the change, Leipzig was wide awake.

Kluivert bravely pulled in from the left, his long-range shot let Trapp bounce forward before Forsberg cleverly shot in to take the lead.

Poulsen could have headed up the next attack, but the ball went just over the bar.

On the other side, Peter Gulacsi (58th) saved a ball against Amin Younes.

When he shot against the free standing Kamada to 1-1, he was powerless.

While Hütter Luka Jovic came on, Leipzig increased the pressure again: Evan Ndicka saved after a Halstenberg cross from Poulsen, who was ready to shoot in (66th).

Then Trapp parried against the Dane (74).

Nagelsmann then relied on fresh offensive forces in the final phase with Christopher Nkunku and Dani Olmo.

Jovic gave away the victory for the guests from close range (81st).
