Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The deputy SPD state chairman and Rhineland-Palatinate finance minister Doris Ahnen defended the direct mandate in the Mainz II constituency in the state elections.
According to the preliminary count, she got 30.8 percent of the constituency votes on Sunday.
Ahnen prevailed against Sabine Flegel (CDU) and Fabian Ehmann (Greens), who won 27.1 percent and 18.7 percent of the vote, respectively.
Ahnen had already won the constituency in the previous state election in 2016.
