Sacred derby!

After a lively match, full of twists and turns, rivals Nîmes and Montpellier separated in a fair draw (1-1), Sunday at the Stade des Costières, during the 29th day of Ligue 1.

This result allows Nîmes to remain unbeaten at home for four matches now, a first for two years, but above all to continue to believe in his chances in the race for the jump-off, or even in direct maintenance.

As for the Montpellier, they have brought their series of unbeaten Championship to seven games, since their misstep at La Mosson (2-1) against Lens, on January 30.

Everything could have changed from one side to the other, as shown by the post touched by Sofiane Alakouch (42nd) on the Nîmes side or the transverse struck by Montpellier Andy Delort (23rd), not to mention two Hérault goals from Gaëtan Laborde ( 56th) and Delort (58th) refused for offside, the second after consulting the VAR.

In the last city, the native of Sète, a lodger, even had time to eat a crocodile that he had hidden in a band attached to his wrist!

Delort, Algerian international center forward, still had his revenge by scoring with a header from a corner (80th) to respond to Moussa Koné, who opened the scoring on a millimeter service from Zinédine Ferhat (63rd).

The two teams having had real highlights - Nîmes for an inspired first quarter of an hour, then Montpellier at the end of the two periods -, the sharing of points, which also owes a lot to the many successful saves by goalkeepers Baptiste Reynet and Jonas Omlin, seems logical.
