Faced with the urgent health situation, the French government plans to carry out around 100 medical evacuations of Covid-19 patients from Ile-de-France next week, the spokesperson announced on Sunday March 14. from the government, Gabriel Attal, and a government source.

By the end of next week, probably a hundred patients will have been evacuated from the Île-de-France region to other regions,

 " said, welcoming "an exceptional mobilization", the secretary of State which assisted on the tarmac of Orly airport with the evacuations by medicalized plane of two patients of 33 and 70 years of the hospital of Meaux, leaving for the CHU of Bordeaux.

 Before the arrival of the two ambulances, around 10:15 a.m., Gabriel Attal had visited the plane where two red stretchers had been placed one behind the other, next to a row of seats for the nursing staff, including two doctors. and two nurses.

A third patient was to be transported Sunday from Meaux to Nantes by helicopter.

Ramping up of medical evacuations

 The medical evacuation operations " 

will continue during the week and increase in power, at the rate of six evacuations on average per day (by air) and then at the end of the week, a more massive operation with medicalized TGVs which will allow to transfer several dozen patients to regions which are today less under pressure,

 ”detailed Gabriel Attal.

These evacuations will take place mainly to the Pays de Loire region, New Aquitaine and the Occitanie region, he said.

According to a government source, next Thursday and Sunday will be organized the operation "

 " which consists of the evacuation by TGV of 50 patients in total (25 and 25).

We are mobilizing all our forces in this battle to reduce the pressure on our hospitals in Île-de-France with these transfers,

In total, before those of the day, there had been 163 medical evacuations throughout France since January 26.

The first three patients in intensive care had already been evacuated on Saturday March 13, in the morning of Ile-de-France to Nantes, Angers and Le Mans, according to the Regional Health Agency.
