The Jordanian Prime Minister, Bishr Al-Khasawneh, confirmed yesterday that his government holds responsibility for what happened in Salt Hospital, and its keenness to address the causes of the accident, and strive not to recur.

Al-Khasawneh said during an emergency session of the Jordanian Parliament, yesterday, that the government will not shirk the responsibility of the lack of basic service in hospitals in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He pointed out that the government requested the Judicial Council to conduct an independent judicial investigation, explaining that the government bears political responsibility for the accident.

For his part, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Health in charge, Mazen Al-Faraya, explained that there are immediate measures taken by the government, the most important of which are: allocating civil defense cadres in hospitals to inspect oxygen three times a day, as well as in the supplying companies, to ensure that the quantities are sufficiently available, and a competent disposer. In each hospital, in addition to the follow-up of the two companies providing oxygen to the hospitals of the Ministry of Health and the Royal Medical Services.

The minister also revealed the establishment of an oxygen plant by the armed forces, which will be able to produce 600 cylinders within three weeks, and 10 tons in the month of April.

Yesterday, the Greater Amman Municipality announced that, in compliance with the defense orders and the decisions of the Council of Ministers, all public parks and parks have been closed, in order to preserve the health and safety of citizens, calling on everyone to adhere to health requirements.
