"Suspected muscle fiber torn" at Stuttgart's Mangala

Stuttgart (AP) - Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart will probably have to do without midfielder Orel Mangala for some time.

The 22-year-old Belgian injured his thigh in the game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

"Orel is suspected of having torn muscle fibers," said VfB coach Pellegrino Matarazzo after the final whistle on Sunday evening.

This is the medical assessment.

"Tomorrow he'll have an MRI."

Because of his injury, Mangala was replaced shortly before half-time.
