The Civil Guard is investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby in the Murcian town of

Alhama

this Friday morning, according to La Opinion de Murcia.

The body of the baby

was found in the bed of the house

where the family lived.

When the local police arrived at the house, the agents took a statement from the boy's parents and observed that they were

under the influence of alcohol

.

They both admitted that they had drunk the night before and that

they lay in the same bed

where the boy's lifeless body was found.

It was in the morning that they realized that the baby had passed away.

According to the newspaper, a doctor, a nurse, a dozen agents of the Local Police of

Alhama

de Murcia, agents of the Benemérita, a member of the Judicial Police of the aforementioned Corps, a coroner, the judge and the Judicial secretary.

One of the hypotheses being investigated is that

the parents accidentally crushed the baby

when they got into bed, although the coroner's report is expected to confirm this line of investigation.

The parents, who

have five other children

, were transferred as investigators for gross negligence homicide to the Arrixaca barracks, although they were not detained.
