“I inform the Bolivians that Ms. Jeanine Agnes has already been detained and is currently in the hands of the police,” Castillo wrote on Twitter.

On March 12, Bolivia's anti-corruption prosecutor, Omar Alcides, issued an arrest warrant for the former interim president.

In October 2020, the former Minister of Economy of the country and supporter of the former Bolivian President Evo Morales Luis Arce won the presidential elections in Bolivia.

According to RIA Novosti, at the end of October of the same year, the Bolivian parliament demanded a judicial investigation against Agnes, accusing her of genocide.

Agnes herself considers herself innocent.

In addition, parliament has called for criminal cases against 11 ministers and ex-ministers to be launched for human rights violations in which 26 people were killed during post-presidential protests in 2019.
