The Duchess of Cambridge, according to reports from the British media, spent a few minutes in silence, observing flowers and writings, among the people.

Mirror quotes a Buckingham Palace source, according to whom Kate, in the unannounced visit "wanted to pay homage to Sarah and her family", because "she remembers what it was like to walk the streets of London at night before marrying Prince William" .

The source added that there would be no official visit because Kate wanted to "show unity with anyone else who felt the same as she did."

had organized a vigil to remember Everard.

The terrible murder of Sarah has given new life to the movement against violence against women.

However, the vigil was canceled due to the pandemic, but other initiatives have been planned to remember the woman and to bring attention to gender-based violence, such as online events, sharing of contents with the hashtag #ReclaimTheStreets, lighting of candles at windows or at the entrance to houses.

The 48-year-old, who first appeared in court, was arrested on Tuesday.

The man, dressed in gray overalls, was accompanied to court for the confirmation of his personal data, remaining seated between two plainclothes officers in the dock.

In the past few days he has been taken to hospital twice with head injuries, which police say he got while alone in his cell.

Sarah Everard disappeared on March 3 at around 9.30pm on her way home, after visiting friends in South London.

On the way, she had talked on the phone with her boyfriend Josh Lowth, 33, and had arranged to meet the next day.

Her body was later found in a wooded area in Ashford in Kent, 80km from where she was last seen.

The body was in a construction bag and identification was done via dental impressions, according to British media.

The assassination sparked a wave of indignation across the country.

The story touched a nerve: not only the safety of women on the street, but also the skepticism towards the London police who said they were 'shocked' by the alleged involvement of one of their agents.

Many women have shared experiences of threats, assaults, harassment and dangerous situations on the streets on social media.
