Munich / Augsburg / Berlin (dpa) - The Greens in the Bundestag accuse Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) of excessively high consultancy costs for the planned “German Center for Mobility of the Future” in Munich.

"Without expensive advisors, Andreas Scheuer will probably not even leave his house," said the budgetary spokesman for the Greens in the Bundestag, Sven-Christian Kindler of the "Augsburger Allgemeine" (Saturday edition).

The ministry estimated more than one million euros for external consultancy costs.

"As is so often the case, at the Research Center for Mobility, too, first and foremost, he surrounds himself with a crowd of external consultants and wastes tax money without end," criticized Kindler in the newspaper.

The budget committee of the Bundestag has not yet had a concept for the structure, orientation and operation of the research center.

According to the Federal Ministry of Transport, the center in Munich will “find answers to how people can move and goods can be transported on the basis of new technological possibilities”.

A total of 322.55 million euros is budgeted for the project.
