Four days after its defeat against Dijon, Asvel was able to react, crushing Limoges (83-60), while the Burgundians continued their victorious momentum by beating Boulogne-Levallois (66-64), Saturday during the 24th day of the French basketball championship.

After a series of four defeats, Asvel (6th) had no room for error if he did not want to be left behind by the leaders.

So the reigning champions (2019) attacked with their feet to the ground, leading 13-2 after just over three minutes and finishing the first quarter with already 14 points ahead (29-15).

Subsequently, TJ Parker's men, carried by a more aggressive Thomas Heurtel (15 points, 6 rebounds) for his second performance with the Rhone after eleven of absence in the league, continued to do no quarter, counting up to 28 points ahead.

Stunned, Limoges never seemed in a position to come back and cash their third defeat in a row.

With now 7 defeats for only 5 victories, the Limougeauds downgraded to 10th place in the standings.

Dijon continues to shine.

He scored his 7th victory in a row on Saturday, beating Boulogne-Levallois.

With 12 victories for two defeats, the Dijonnais remain firmly anchored in their 2nd place.

Levallois fell back one row (5th, 10 v. 5 d.), Now preceded by Strasbourg (8 v, 4 d.), Winner of Chalon sur Saône on Saturday (96-92).

The Metropolitans 92, who validated their ticket for the quarter-finals of the Eurocup on Wednesday and remained on a large victory on March 6 against Portel (85-60), had yet started the game, widening a gap of 9 points in 5 minutes.

But Dijon quickly woke up to regain the advantage in the middle of the second quarter, before slowly but surely widening the gap (with up to 14 points in advance) to come and win, despite a strong pressing of Ile-de-France residents in the last minutes.

The match between Boulazac and Cholet was postponed after the discovery of several cases of Covid-19 within the Cholet team.

Friday, Monaco had consolidated its leadership position by winning on the floor of Portel 81 to 71 for its tenth victory in eleven matches.

Bourg en Bresse (3rd) was able to remain solid to narrowly win at Le Mans (86-85).

After operating at idle for several months due to the Covid-19, widening wide gaps between the teams in the number of games played (15 for Levallois and 9 for Boulazac to date), the French basketball championship has resumed at a steady pace since early March to try to catch up.
