The car bomb explosion targeted a police station in a busy area.
Several women and children are among the victims.
A dozen stalls and homes were destroyed in the blast.
People were trapped under the rubble.
Despite the statements of the Taliban who deny any involvement, the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani incriminated them last night, saying that they demonstrated "
once again have no intention of reaching a peaceful settlement of the current crises
".
Tensions are palpable between the two parties engaged in peace talks that began in September last year and are nowhere.
Intensifying violence
On the ground, violence is escalating as the United States says it still has not taken a decision on the withdrawal of all of its troops from Afghan soil before May 1.
They made a commitment to the Taliban as part of an agreement they signed with the insurgents in Doha in February 2020.
A few days ago, the head of American diplomacy Antony Blinken sent a draft peace agreement to the Afghan authorities and the Taliban providing for the creation of a "
new inclusive government
" wishing to speed up
peace talks
.
A letter badly received by the government of Kabul and which has not yet received any response.
